Raphaël had responded to the call from the SNSM (The French National Society for Sea Rescue) by funding a large part of a new boat intended for rescue at sea. The boat will be christened in the spring in the presence of Anne Smith and Titouan Lamazou.
In October 2018, the SNSM station of Saint-Quay Portrieux launched a call for donations to finance the acquisition of a new boat. The station needed a powerful 7.5m rigid inflatable boat to help boaters and sea professionals. This type of boat costs 100,000 €. Raphaël, a neighboring company located by the sea, heard the call and decided to make a significant donation to help these volunteers who risk their lives to save those of others. They donated 40000 euros, a decisive amount that will allow the station to finalize the acquisition.
The christening of the boat Raphaël was initially planned for May 2020. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the event is postponed to spring 2021 in the presence of Anne Smith, Peintre de la Marine, and Titouan Lamazou, painter and navigator, winner of the first Vendée Globe, among other titles.
